ADI's precision signal chain platform enables easy high-precision design
Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has introduced a precision narrow-bandwidth signal chain platform to optimize system performance in industrial and instrumentation applications with signal bandwidths ranging from DC to approximately 10 kHz. To simplify the design process, the new platform offers a range of complete signal chains with customizable solution options and offers a select set of development tools, including simulation environments such as LTspice®, for in-depth study of filter performance or Design tools for power management, and a signal chain-based evaluation system that leverages ADI's decades of experience and insights. The new platform incorporates a precision narrow-bandwidth signal chain, featuring a selection of precision components and power management components that prioritize low-frequency design requirements and provide excellent accuracy, stability and resolution. These robust, repeatable, high-quality measurement and drive solutions help designers go into their designs with confidence and handle the challenges of precision instrumentation in areas such as source meter (SMU), digital multimeter (DMM), and data acquisition systems. severe challenges.

Examples of precision narrow bandwidth signal chain options included with the platform include: low latency and high stability options for measurement and control, and noise and stability optimized options for voltage drive. High-stability and low-latency signal chains make end-point measurements more reliable and faster, ensuring closed-loop system setups can be reconfigured with minimal settling time, making test time more efficient. To adjust for noise and stability, a voltage driver circuit was created that supports a highly accurate and extremely stable programmable voltage source.
Key features of precision narrow bandwidth:
24-bit, no-missing-codes ADC performance greatly enhances resolution and enables high accuracy throughout the signal chain through optimized gain settings and reduced settling time
Flexibility to optimize noise performance and power with minimal latency means good layouts can be reused and circuits can be used for multiple applications with only a simple software update
The bandwidth is measured from DC, which means that stable and accurate closed-loop measurements can be made in a certain low frequency range
